As the seasons through years endlessly wither and die,
so my contempt for every one of us will soon pass by.
As the warmth of Summer once again became lost,
I turned my collar up against the threatening frost.
But to consider it the end would’ve been to falter,
for the price when mere patience is a minimal cost.
Yet it still feels like loss…
Again the days of Summer recede into cold,
But known since time immemorial, the chill cannot keep its hold.
So, no matter frequent nor consistent the jaws of Winter bite,
I’ll just turn my collar against the recurring cold.
